Small-scale hydropower project: Tender called for local entrepreneurs & private companies

To implement the mini-hydropower project from Paung Laung Dam, the tender is called for local entrepreneurs and private companies for investments. The tender forms are being sold starting 14th to 29th November 2022 and the tender proposals must be submitted by 14th February 2023.

Official, Department of Hydropower Implementation said "For small-scale hydropower production, the hydrometric system, straflomatrix system, stream diver and tubular systems are suitable and we have called the tender for the project implementation. And we will implement the tasks depending on the feasibility proposal with private investment. The Paung Laung Dam can generate at least 1-megawatt of electricity. The Paung Laung dam was built with the purpose of providing irrigated water to more than 21,000 acres of cultivated areas in Pyinmana, Lewe and Yedashay townships. "

According to the situation of project location, the feasibility proposal report will submit in line with the objective of diversion weir while maintaining the strength of the dam, supplying water to cultivated areas, preventing the damage of sluice gates in the dam during generating electricity.
