SKorean market opens higher on first day of 2023

Representatives from South Korea's government and the Korea Exchange on Monday opened the 2023 stock market with a ceremony in Seoul. The South Korean market opened higher than the previous year's close at the beginning of the trading session. Electronic screens displaying the Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) in Seoul showed it at 2,249.95, which was 13.55 points higher.
