






As the sideline, Union Minister for Electric Power U Thaung Han and Union Minister for Energy U Myo Myint Oo who are in the Russian Federation to attend the Russian Energy Week International Forum in Moscow held a meeting with the secretary of Organizing Committee in-charge of holding the Russian Energy Week International Forum Mr. Alexander Shatilov and party at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Moscow on Monday evening.
In the meeting, the secretary said that Russia is a country that produces energy-related products and the in-charge of the Forum will pay a visit to Myanmar soon. He also discussed the weekly reports to the Russian President concerning the progress of Russia-Myanmar bilateral cooperation.
Union Minister U Thaung Han said that not only energy sector but also electric power sector issues will be discussed with the Russian organizations at the forum and also discussed plan on the visit of the Forum in-charge and delegates to Myanmar.
Union Minister U Myo Myint Oo also discussed to meet officials of the Ministry of Energy of Russia, oil and natural gas sector as well as to meet with relevant companies. On Tuesday, Myanmar delegation led by the Union Ministers paid homage to the Shwezigon replica pagoda in Ethnomir world culture city in Kaluga of Moscow and then paid homage to Sayadaws who are residing in the Sitagu Dhamma Wihara monastery and donated offertories.
In the evening, Myanmar delegation attended a formal dinner hosted by Chairman of the Russia-ASEAN Business Council Mr. Ivan Polyakov and they exchanged views on boosting economic cooperation between Myanmar and Russia, plan to meet with relevant ministries during the visit to Myanmar in November of this year for establishing an Emergency Response Center as a symbol of Russia-Myanmar friendship in Myanmar as well as manufacturing machines and equipment that can be used for industrial enterprises by establishing an industrial zone for Russia-Myanmar friendship in the Yangon border area.
The meeting also focused on investment in oil exploration in Myanmar by companies from Russia which are operating in energy sector, oil refinery plant and fertilizer factories and the sale and export of oil materials.
