in downtown Seattle, at least one person was killed and five wounded in a shooting on Wednesday, city police said.

CHIEF, SEATTLE FIRE DEPARTMENT, HAROLD SCOGGINS said"We found a total of six patients on scene. One of those patients was pronounced dead here at the scene, and the other five patients, we consider them red patients which means that they are critical so they need to get to the hospital. They were all transported by Seattle fire units as well as AMR units."

SHOOTING WITNESS, DOUGLAS CONVERSE said "That sounded like a very powerful weapon that the shooter was using, so I thought the best thing I could do was notify police."

police said they believe the incident was started by an altercation outside a McDonald's restaurant and they were searching for suspects.
