Shibuya Halloween alert

Shibuya, the heart of Tokyo's youth culture and special ward in Tokyo, is on alert ahead of Halloween's arrival at the end of this month. Officials have asked people not to come to Shibuya to celebrate. The Ward officials covered up the iconic statue by Shibuya Station on Saturday to stop Halloween partiers from gathering around it.
Ward officials are being especially cautious as this is Japan's first Halloween since it eased COVID restrictions in May. People are asked not to drink on the street in Shibuya from 6 PM to 5 AM. The measure will be in place through Wednesday morning.
