Shanghai Cultural Performance Market Booms after Epidemic

The cultural performance market in Shanghai has been accelerating after epidemic. Famous artists, performing groups and masterpieces were shown on the stage of the city, turning the off-season into the peak season. Saturday night, the opera Tosca, jointly produced by the National Grand Theatre, the Shanghai Opera House and the Shaanxi Grand Theatre, premiered at the Shanghai Grand Theatre.

The famous soprano He Hui first starred in the most representative role of her opera career on the Chinese opera stage. Over the past 20 years, she has performed 102 times on the stage all over the world. In next month, 931 performances will be shown in Shanghai, which is an increase of more than 70% compared with 530 performances in 2019.

The Shanghai Grand Theatre Art Center also signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the National Grand Theatre. The two sides will integrate resources and work together to expand the connection of the global art industry.
