Meteorologists in Sri Lanka have issued severe weather warnings, forecasting intense rainfall exceeding 100 millimeters across several key regions of the island nation.

Heavy downpours are expected to impact localized areas within the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, North-Central, and North-Western provinces. Authorities have advised residents and travelers across the designated zones to remain vigilant and take necessary safety precautions.

The severe weather system brings heightened risks of localized flooding, severe lightning strikes, and sudden, strong gusty winds that could cause severe property damage and operational disruptions during electrical storms. Disaster response authorities continue to monitor atmospheric conditions across the affected provinces.
