Serbia starts production of Sputnik Vaccine

Serbia began production on Friday of Russia's Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine. The head of Serbia's Torlak Institute in Belgrade pressed the button to begin production of the shots as a symbolic ceremony was held which the saw the presidents of both countries attend via video conference. Serbia's state RTS television said vaccine components arrived from Russia on Thursday and the Serbia-made Sputnik V vaccines could be in use within ten days. The Russian vaccines have not been approved by the European Medical Agency. Slovakia and Hungary have been the only European Union countries to use the Russian jabs.
