Seizure of controlled chemicals: Over 14 tons of Sodium cyanide seized

Over 14 tons of controlled chemical Sodium cyanide worth over 77.4 million Kyats were arrested in Kyaukme and Pyin Oo Lwin Townships, according to the Myanmar Police Force.

Acting on a tip-off, the combined forces including the members of Anti-Narcotics Task Force inspected a NISSAN 6-wheelers driven from Theinni to Mandalay by Aung Zaw Oo accompanied by Than Win near Oriental Toll Gate, entrance to Kyaukme, Shan State (North) at 6 p.m. on December 30, 2021 and arrested 6.9 tons of controlled chemical Sodium Cyanide.

According to the investigation, the combined forces also inspected NISSAN 6-wheelers driven from Naung Cho to Pyin Oo Lwin by Yan Phyo Aung (a) Maung Gyi accompanied by Htet Arker (a) Ko Htet between mile posts 47/48 on Lashio-Mandalay Road at 6 a.m. on December 31, 2021 and arrested 7.15 tons of controlled chemical Sodium Cyanide.

A Total of arrested controlled chemical Sodium Cyanide was over 14 tons worth 77.4 million Kyats. The 4 suspects were charged under the Law and the investigations are underway to capture the rest of the suspects, according Myanmar Police Force.
