Thousands of police officers have begun arriving in Cornwall, on the southeastern tip of England, ahead of a summit meeting of the Group of Seven (G7) wealthy democracies. Around 6,500 officers are set to secure the event which will host several leaders including U.S. President Joe Biden, between 11-13 June. Prime Minister Boris Johnson will use the G7 meeting to urge world leaders to commit to vaccinating the global population by the end of 2022. Member nations have also agreed to support a global minimum corporate tax of at least 15% to deter multinational companies from avoiding taxes by stashing profits in low-rate countries.
