Central Committee on Security Supervision during the Multiparty Democracy General Election held its Meeting (3/2025) on Friday afternoon. The meeting was attended by the Central Committee Chairman and Union Minister for Home Affairs, Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung and many other officials.

The Union Minister stated that since the process of scrutinizing a total of 5,023 Hluttaw candidate nominees is underway, it is necessary to provide coordinated assistance to ensure timely completion of the review. He emphasized the need to organize and manage the necessary security arrangements for various election-related matters, including the advanced voting process, ensuring the safety and security of political party members and candidates during the campaigning and voting periods, providing necessary security arrangements for domestic and international observer groups and ensuring that all eligible voters are able to cast their votes.

The Central Committee has been identifying and taking action against those who commit offenses to disrupt the electoral process in various ways. As of September 30, 24 cases and 64 culprits have been prosecuted. He added that it is necessary to continue investigating, exposing, and taking action against individuals who commit acts of incitement and propaganda that could undermine election security.

Subsequently, the concerned officials reported on the projected plans for election security, as well as the progress regarding regional security and the rule of law in their respective areas. Members of the Central Committee then offered supplementary suggestions and discussions. Also, a representative from the Union Election Commission made a presentation, and the Union Minister coordinated the presentation.
