Sea turtles belong to the ocean

Education for Nature Vietnam (ENV) has recently released a short documentary entitled "Sea Turtles Belong to the Ocean," which is their 55th short film. The purpose of this film is to increase public awareness of the threats to the species, particularly illegal poaching and trafficking. Sea turtles face many threats during their maturation.

In addition to the loss of their habitat, especially the spawning grounds along the coast, they are also hunted for jewellery, specimens, and other valuable products. Moreover, climate change may pose a threat to sea turtles as their eggs hatch into either males or females depending on the temperature. Sea turtles are also known to have an important role in ocean ecosystems.
