Scorching heat is forecast for western Japan again

Scorching heat is forecast for western Japan again on Monday. People in the region are urged to take thorough measures against heatstroke.    

The Japan Meteorological Agency said clear skies prevailed mainly over western Japan on Sunday, causing temperatures to rise in many areas. Highs are expected to reach 38 degrees in Hita, 37 in Yamaguchi City and 36 in the cities of Takamatsu and Miyazaki.

Heatstroke alerts have been issued for 14 prefectures. People in those prefectures are urged to take thorough measures, including the appropriate use of air-conditioning and frequently consuming liquids and salt, to prevent heatstroke.
