Science & Technology: Union Minister makes inspections in Yangon

Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw inspected the Yangon Technological University on August 19.

Upon hearing the rector's presentation regarding the university affairs, the Union Minister provided necessary guidance on cultivating the human resources essential for the nation's socio-economic development. He also stressed matters regarding the modernizing curricula, teaching and learning methodologies, assessment models, quality assurance, and international accreditation efforts.

He also highlighted the importance of maintaining a good institutional image, keeping the campus clean, pleasant, and beautiful, and fostering a conducive teaching and learning environment. Furthermore, he inspected ongoing construction and maintenance works to ensure they align systematically with the university's Master Plan and are completed on time with high quality.

Subsequently, the Union Minister visited the University of Computer Studies, Yangon and the Technological University (West Yangon). During the visit, he inspected the implementation of ICT-based teaching and learning, research activities, efforts to improve the universities' physical image and drainage systems along with future plans, as well as the construction progress of staff housing, football grounds, and Recreation Centres, providing necessary guidance and support.
