










On 11th September, ASEAN Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation-COSTI held its work coordination meeting at the Ministry of Science andTechnology through hybrid system. Union Minister Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw attended the meeting and made an opening speech.
During his speech, the Union Minister stressed on Myanmar’s collaborative efforts with COSTI, 9 sub committees, and 5 task forces, aiming for continuous implementation of the APASTI (2026-2035). Then, the Union Minster presented honorary certificates to senior level national finalist for UL Research institutes-ASEAN-U.S.
Science prize for Women 2024, Driector of Agricultural Research Department Dr. Ni Ni Tint and Mid-Career level national finalist, Driector of Naypyitaw State Polytechnic University Dr. Theint Theint Win. Then, Chairman of National COSTI, permanent secretary of Ministry of Science and Technology Dr. Sai Kyaw Naing Oo explained the purpose of the meeting.
It was followed by sector wise discussions of the attendees on further implementations of science, technology and innovation measures. The meeting was concluded with the closing remarks of the Union Minister. Later, the Union Minister visited Naypyitaw State Polytechnic University and oversaw the arrangements and preparations for Engineering & ICT Project Show 2025 which is set to be held on 12th September at the university.
There, the Union Minister inspected the projects developed by the students and coordinated with the relevant officials to fulfill necessities. The Engineering & ICT Project Show, 2025 is organized for the emergence of Multi-disciplinary projects and reliable experts and professionals in engineering, architecure and computer studies who can stand abreast on the international arena, enhancing innovation, research and communication skills of the students and showcasing the advantages of modern technology.
