




The School Feeding Program is being implemented in basic education schools across Magway Region. On the morning of September 23, a school feeding activity for kindergarten students under the School-Age Children Nutrition Development Program was held at Basic Education High School (Branch) Kantha in Magway Township.
Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin and region ministers, Head of the Magway Region Public Health and Medical Services Department Dr. Aung Myint Oo, and officials from the Region Basic Education Department visited the school to observe the implementation of the meal preparation and feeding program.
During the visit, Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin emphasized that adequate and balanced nutrition is a fundamental necessity for children. He stated that it is crucial for children to consume sufficient and balanced meals to support their physical growth, develop their intelligence for academic excellence, build strong immunity to prevent infections, and recover quickly if they fall ill.
The program aims to ensure that all students in basic education schools across Magway Region are healthy, well-nourished, and develop healthy habits through multi-sectoral collaboration, including education and health. It is also intended to promote healthy eating patterns among primary school students and their families to support their growth, development, and educational progress.
For the 2025-2026 academic year, the school feeding programme will be carried out for 29,502 kindergarten students in 2,107 basic education schools across 21 townships in Magway Region, based on the kindergarten student roster. Funds have been allocated, and the school feeding program will continue to be implemented.
