
The Information Team of the State Administration Council issued an announcement for Ethnic Armed Organizations on December 31st.
It stated that the Government is making efforts for opening dialogues with all Ethnic Armed Organizations by forming the National Unity and Peacemaking Central Committee, Work Committee and Coordination Committee. Efforts have also been made with the dutiful citizens for the arrest of the terrorists under the names of CRPH, NUG and PDF who committed terrorist acts and brutally killing to the innocent people.
Those have been arrested from ssome cities in upper Myanmar including Mandalay, Sagaing Region, Kachin and Chin States have been found to be related with KIA and TNLA groups. Between 1 February and 31 December 2021, there were 3,751 violent incidents in some cities and the security forces arrested 1,492 terrorists and seized 133 weapons, 1,693 rounds of ammunition, 28 grenades, 217 homemade mines and other explosives.
Moreover, the police also detained 9,958 terrorists and seized 3,417 firearms, 161,500 rounds of ammunition, 647 grenades, 6,895 homemade mines and other related materials in time. In Mandalay, 6 suspects were arrested in 3 cases along with the seizures of 225 various arms and ammunition, while 8 suspects in 1 case with a launcher in Monywa.
A total of 209 suspects have been arrested in 17 cases from Monywa and some cities in upper Myanmar together with 549 assorted arms and ammunition. According to the confession of suspects, 43 of them have attended the explosive training at KIA Group and 37 at TNLA Group.
Most of the seized arms and ammunition are the ones manufactured by KIA Group. Tatmadaw has strictly followed the NCA signed on 15 October 2015. The Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services has already said, “Tatmadaw will strictly abide by the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement in restoring the perpetual peace that is needed for the country and people”. Moreover, peace-related matters are prioritized in the five-point roadmap and nine objectives of the State Administration Council.
Therefore, during the time being affected by social and economic sufferings of entire people due to the outbreak of COVID-19 disease, the ethnic armed organizations are urged to abide by the provisions in the NCA whether they have signed the NCA or under the stage of negotiation and whether they have intention to commit the acts that can damage the stability of the nation, regional development and life security of the national people.
When committing any acts to further damage the peace, tranquility and socio-economic of the nation and its people, any necessary security measures will be undertaken.
