More than 90,000 people have been evacuated from rising rivers in northern Kazakhstan and Russia's southern Urals, which are witnessing one of their worst flood disasters in decades. Rivers have been overflowing for days in 10 regions of Kazakhstan, flooding entire cities and villages.

On Tuesday, the head of Russian Emergencies Ministry flied over the flooded areas in the Orenburg region and southern tip of the Ural Mountains in a helicopter, with a team inspecting the damage. A state of emergency has been announced in the area and both Moscow and Astana.
