Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said on Sunday that Russia is ready to resume trilateral negotiations with the United States and Ukraine after November 4. Ushakov said the planned trilateral talks would be merely preliminary, expert-level contacts and that expectations should not be set too high.

Significant effort would still be required from all sides before a peace agreement on the Ukraine issue could be reached, he said. Ukrainian President Zelensky confirmed on the same day that they plan to hold trilateral technical-level working talks in November. The involved parties are currently still discussing the location for the talks; potential venues include Abu Dhabi in the UAE, other parts of the Middle East, and cities in Europe.
