Russia's foreign minister said on Wednesday that a delegation would meet with the US to discuss topics relating to "strategic stability" by mid-July. Sergey Lavrov told that teams from both nations would "consider the tasks" set by Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Joe Biden when they met in Geneva in May.

He said that topics such as "arms control and reduction" were expected to be discussed at the upcoming meeting. The pair had earlier held talks where they spoke about joint cooperation between the two nations, as well as Turkey's planned use of Russia's S-400 Triumph missile system. Russia had struck a deal in 2017 for Turkey to purchase the air defense system.
