






Water Supply Project in Meikhtila commenced on Friday, hailing the 77th anniversary Armed Forces Day. the project was undertaken by the Rural Development under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Development of Rural Areas and Meikhtila Township Development Affairs Committee.
Union Minister U Hla Moe attended the ceremony and made a speech, saying that the ministry is carrying out the tasks for availability of drinking water as a priority to meet the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and Myanmar Sustainable Development Plan.
He urged officials to supervise for conducting regular maintenance works and provide the services without fail. The project benefits over 34,000 people from about 7,000 households in three wards of Meikhtila, and it will increase 70% coverage of water supply in the town.
The Union Minister and party later met with the staf from Cooperatives Department, Rural Development Department and Small Scale Industries Department, and gave instructions on implementation of regional development works.
The Union Minister and party later inspected construction progress of roads and bridges in HteeHlaing Village of Yamethin Township, and implementation of mordern farming, concrete paving and production of value-added products in GwayPin Village of Tatkone Township.
