










Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe, together with officials, on 19th March visited Weaving and Vocational Training School (Taunggyi), and heard reports on the conducting of the training.
The Training School has been opened for safeguarding of traditional heritage, dissemination of knowledge on weaving process and nurturing the skillful workers for the state-owned and private garment workers.
During 2022 academic year, 19 trainees are attending the one-year course for garment skills and 4 trainees in 6-month course for hand-weaving. The Union Minister instructed for providing assistance for job creation and reseach works for development of weaving industry.
They later inspected the water supplying works at two villages in Kalaw Township. The Union Minister and party later attended the ceremony to mark the supply of water to five villaes in Pindaya Township of Danu Self-Administered Zone.
Inn Pet Let, Nan Palan, Thayet Pya, Thit AePin and BawHsone Villages have accessed for water supply with the efforts fo the Department of Rural Development. The Union Minister also discussed the socio-economic development and incomes generation works for the villagers.
In meeting with Coffee farmers in YwaNgan Township, the Union Minister pledged to provide assistance for coffee farmers and socio-economic development.
Officials from Danu Self-Administered Zone also reported the extended cultivation of sun flowers for sufficiency of edible oil. The Union Minister discussed the fund raising and providing the agriculture inputs.
He called for cooperation of departmental personnel for successful implementation of the project.
