Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr. Htay Aung attended the “Pyin Oo Lwin Rural Cycling Festival” at the Pyin Oo Lwin District Public Stadium as a movement to revitalize tourism in Mandalay Region.

More than 150 local and foreign cyclists took part in this 9-mile cycling event up to the December Farm from Pwekauk Waterfall. Also, the Union Minister ceremonially opened the railway from Pyin Oo Lwin to Gote Hteik Viaduct and gave souvenirs to passengers.

It’s learnt that for COVID-19 prevention, the number of passengers from Pyin Oo Lwin to Gote Hteik Viaduct is halved, with about 140 passengers on board. At Pwekauk Waterfall, the Union minister met the cyclists, and presented commemorative medals and awarded certificates to those who participated in the cycling tour at December Farm.

The Union Minister also observed the registration process under the “Pan Khin” project conducted by the Ministry of Immigration and Population and handed over national registration cards to the local people.
