Currently, the rumours about shortage of fuel at the fuel storage tanks in Thilawa are spreading on the social media. Concerning this issue, leader of the SAC Information Team Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun responded to the public concerns on the rumor about the current fuel prices on the social media.
The SAC Information Team leader said that there are spreading rumors on the fuel issue. As some malicious media distribute again this information, fuel stations are closed in some places and there is lack of fuel.
He said that the fuel has been imported sufficiently in the country and the fuel is surplus than before. The main reason is that the foreign currency is sold for stability of fuel price.
He said that they asked the import and export companies to sell at the price of 1,850 kyats. The companies don’t want to sell the fuel with this price so that they are spreading the rumors on the shortage of fuel.
He added that concerning this issue, they are informing and warning to the concerned persons. The fuel will be sold regularly to those who are granted permission starting 20th April. There is also fuel imported by respective companies on way to Myanmar.
The SAC Team leader said that people don’t worry and should not believe the rumors about fuel and there is sufficient fuel.
