Road Upgrading: Chief Minister meets concerned officials

Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan held meeting with officials from the Department of Highways and relevant company for the completion of upgrading of Moemauk-Kyauk Sakhan-Sein Lone-Lwejwe road with the target time that is the major route for Myanmar-China border trade in Bhamo district, Kachin State on 1st August.

At the meeting, the State Chief Minister said that Moemauk-Lwejwe road is one of the strategic routes for flowing Myanmar-China trade commodities in Bhamo District, Kachin State  and it needs to complete within the target time in line with the work procedures.

Later, the Director of Hong Xing Zhang Ba Construction Co., LTD that is undertaking the road upgrading tasks reported on progress of works with BOT system and the Engineer (In-charge) on the completion of preliminary works of road project, compensation for the crop lands included in the road area and maintenance works not to interrupt the traffic route during the rainy season.

This road section links Lwejwe in Moe Mauk Township of Kachin State and Zhang Peng City in Tehong District of the People's Republic of China and it is also the main route to export agricultural products from Bhamo District. The Department of Highways and the company signed the contract for upgrading the road on 7th April 2022 and the project period is 3 years.

Later on the day, the Chief Minister met with the State Ministers, officials of township development committee and the market welfare  committee members at the same venue. He called for upgrading and beautifying of the markets in line with the characteristic of the city and renovation and maintenance tasks.
