Ritual Event: Gon Shan Ethnics hold Mingalar drum conveying ceremony

The 611th Traditional Maha Thingyan Mingalar drum conveying Ceremony of Gon Shan Ethnics in Keng Tung of eastern Shan State was held on Thursday.

The Triangle Region Command Commander Maj-Gen Myo Min Tun and officials sprinkled the Mingalar drum and the statue of celestial being with scented water.

The Commander and officials splashed water to the attendees. Then, they conveyed the Mingalar drum and the statute of celestial being from Sao Lon Kat Aung Myay shrine to the downtown and then brought to Laung Koat Nat Khin monastery.

The locals took part in the conveyance along the road by splashing water. Gon Shan ethnic people hold this ritual ceremony annually.
