The review meeting for the 10th Anniversary of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) ceremony was held at the MGallery Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on October 24. At the meeting, the Chairman of the Leading Committee for Organizing the 10th Anniversary of the NCA Ceremony, Union Minister Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, stated that the 10th Anniversary NCA ceremony was successfully and systematically conducted.
He mentioned that the working committees also coordinated and collaborated harmoniously with each other. A total of 93 recommendations related to politics, economics, and the NCA were received from the workshop. Some of these points were beneficial recommendations, and it was observed that youth are interested in peace.
He said they will review the strengths and weaknesses of the 10th Anniversary NCA ceremony and address necessary improvements in future events. He also instructed that the actual budget expenditures used by each working committee should be systematically presented in accordance with financial procedures.
Subsequently, the Secretary of the Leading Committee explained that the commemorative workshop for the 10th Anniversary was conducted with the aim of determining how to proceed with future processes under the theme "Building a Peaceful Future for Myanmar."
He reported that four Leading Committee meetings, two Joint Coordination Committee meetings, four coordination meetings with NCA-S EAO groups, and numerous meetings with moderators and speakers participating in the political dialogue were held, with efforts made to integrate the work.
He requested open discussion in this meeting regarding the challenges, strengths, and weaknesses encountered by the respective working committees. Following this, the Leading Committee members, Deputy Ministers, and responsible officials discussed the strengths, weaknesses, and the status of financial expenditures related to the tasks carried out by each working committee.
Based on these discussions, the Chairman of the Leading Committee, the Union Minister, assessed that human resource development for peace is still needed. He emphasized the need to train and produce a new generation of youth for peace and to implement regional economic development tasks that support peace.
Noting that the recommendations obtained from the NCA commemorative workshop are good suggestions that can be further implemented under the future new government, he urged the relevant ministries to continue implementing them as needed.
