Return to Normalcy: Rebuilding underway in Falam

Rebuilding measures are underway in Falam of Chin State as terrorists destroyed more than 200 buildings including homes and religious sites.

Armed insurgents caused heavy damage in the town, destroying 215 buildings. out of 2,256 houses in Falam. The worst-hit areas were Valine, Kyin Myawl ​, Talanlo, and Farhtauk wards. Some houses were completely destroyed, others partially or slightly damaged.

Religious buildings in Valine and Talanlo wards were also affected. The destruction happened because of illegal control by armed insurgents. The Tatmadaw regained full control on May 25, 2026, and local authorities are now working actively on rebuilding the town.
