










The Government has been inviting individuals within various organizations, including those operating under the name PDF, which are armed groups opposing the government, to return to the legal fold, and has been providing necessary assistance and support to those who have returned.
On October 21, 12 male and 3 female members of a group operating under the PDF name, who have come to understand the peace processes of the State and the Tatmadaw, have further returned to the legal fold. In the afternoon, a handover ceremony was held at the Mingalar Hall of the Yangon Region Government Office to return the 12 male and 3 female members of groups operating under the PDF name from Hmawbi Township, Hlegu Township, Hlaingthaya Township, Dagon Myothit (North) Township, Sanchaung Township, South Okkalapa Township, Thongwa Township, Dala Township, Kyauktan Township in Yangon Region, and Waw Township in Bago Region, who were received by responsible officials, back to their parents or guardians.
Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Htein explained and discussed legal provisions and provided informational advice. Subsequently, the members of the groups who returned to the legal fold were made to sign pledge documents and were handed over to their parents or guardians.
Afterwards, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Htein, Commander of Yangon Command Maj-Gen Pyae Sone Lin, and responsible officials presented them with support supplies. One individual who returned to the legal fold expressed words of thanks.
Subsequently, the Chief Minister, the Commander, and responsible officials cordially greeted the attendees and hosted them with food and refreshments. Similarly, a handover ceremony was held at the Zeyathiri Hall of the North-West Command to return 18 male and 3 female members of groups operating under the PDF name from Myinmu Township, Monywa Township, Wuntho Township, Shwebo Township, and Kanbalu Township in Sagaing Region, who were received by responsible officials, back to their parents/guardians.
Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw delivered words of advice, and the Commander Brigadier General Myo Min Htwe explained and discussed regional stability and peace, relevant legal provisions, and provided informational advice.
Following this, those who returned to the legal fold handed over the weapons and ammunitions they brought with them, which were received by the Commander. Subsequently, the Chief Minister, the Commander, and responsible officials presented a total of 4.2 million kyats (200,000 kyats per person) and food items to the 21 individuals who returned to the legal fold along with their weapons and ammunition.
They were then made to sign pledge documents and handed over to their parents/guardians. Afterwards, the Chief Minister, the Commander, and responsible officials cordially greeted the attendees and hosted them with food and refreshments, it’s reported.
