



A total of 4,388 displaced persons from Lay Kay Kaw area due to the recent clashes returned to their native villages on December 29th and 30th respectively.
The clashes between some KNU/KNLA leaders and NUG/PDF terrorists and security forces in Lay Kay Kaw of Kayin State was triggered by the raid of the security forces for the NUG/ PDF terrorists who take refuge there since December 15.
The area was controled by the security forces since December 28th and arrangements have been provided for the displaced persons to return to their natives trough coordination between the Thai-Myanmar Border Affairs Committees.
The returnees include 2,076 men and 2,312 women from Ingyin Myaing, Min LetPan, Mae HtawThaLay and Myitta LinMyaing villages. The officials systematically accepted the returnees and provided assistance for COVID-19 test and quaratine process.
