Restricted Chemicals Seized: 35.95 tons of ammonium nitrate arrested

320 million Kyats worth of restricted chemicals were arrested in Theini Township, Shan State (North), according to Myanmar Police Force.

Acting on tip-off, at 7 p.m. on 26th July, a combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force conducted a search of NISSAN 22-Whellers driven by Aung Ko Min accompanied by Hein Min Zaw from Muse to Lashio at Yaypu permanent checkpoint in Chaung Hsar Village, Theini Township, Shan State (North).

The combined team arrested over 320 million Kyats worth 35.95 tons of restricted chemicals ammonium nitrate on the vehicle. According to the investigation, the restricted chemicals of ammonium nitrate were carried to Mandalay Region from Shan State (North) and the suspects are charged under the law and the Police are carrying out investigations to arrest the rest, it is learnt.
