Research Symposium: Dawei University research symposium held

The research symposium to commemorate 24th Anniversary of Dawei University for (2023-2024) Academic Year was held at the Convocation hall of the Dawei University in Taninthayi Region on Thursday morning.

The ceremony was inaugurated with a song performance by the students. Speaking on the occasion, Taninthayi Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko stressed that researches are the lifeblood of the universities. The research works and results conducted and identified by the faculties of the Dawei University are presented at today symposium. By conducting researches on regional resources as per specialized fields will benefit the regional development, he added.

The Chief Minister also urged to conduct researches  which can benefit the MSMEs and encouraged the faculty members to become the professional researchers who can raise the prestige of the university and the region. Then, the pro-rector of the Dawei University made a speech on “Understanding the Importance of Authorship in Academic Writing”.

It was followed by traditional song and dance performances of the students. Then, the Chief Minister presented 1.05 milion kyats to the authors and 500,000 kyats to the performance groups. Then, the Chief Minister overviewed the  research works and posters. It’s reported that a total of 5 arts papers, 8 science papers and 8 posters were presented during the research symposium.
