213 kilowatt Solar Power Plant was opened in Magwe Region on Tuesday. The power plant is part of Kanni River Water Pumping Project in MinBu District.
The opening ceremony was held with an address of Chief Minister U Tint Lwin. Myanmar Solar Power Trading Company won the tender for construction of Solar Power Plant with the permitted budget of over 235 million kyats from Magwe Region Fund for 2020-2021 fiscal year.
The construction started on 10th August 2021 and completed on December 20th. Due to constrcution of the solar power plant,186 acres monsoon paddy plantations and 500 acres of other crop plantations were benefited from the river water pumping system, out of 757 acres benefited area in 2021-2022 cultivation season.
