Remarks Session on Observations: Remarks session of Int’l election observers held

A remarks session on the observations made by international election observers who monitored Phase (3) of the Multi-Party Democracy General Election, which was concluded on January 25, 2026, was held in the morning of January 26 at the Park Royal Hotel in Yangon.

First, the Chairman of the Union Election Commission stated that to enable the observation of the Phase (3) of the Multi-Party Democracy General Election, the Acting President, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, had invited international election observers, and that the State and the Head of State were pleased and honored by the observers' visit.

He also mentioned that all three phases of the Multi-Party Democracy General Election have now been successfully concluded with the participation and voter turnout of the people. The UEC Chairman said that the Multi-Party Democracy General Election that has been held is an important milestone for the country, and the role of the observers who participated as witnesses to the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the electoral process is extremely significant.

The participation of the observers highlights the importance of transparency, freedom, fairness, and cooperation in the democratic process. He added that the observers' findings and recommendations will strengthen public trust in the election and contribute to the advancement and flourishing of the democratic system.

He invited the observers to openly share their views and comments regarding their election observation mission, stating that he gladly welcomes their findings, recommendations, and discussions. He expressed his belief that by receiving their perspectives, ways to perform even better in the future can be sought.

Following this, election observers from the Republic of Belarus, the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, the Republic of Nicaragua, and the Cambodian People's Party provided their comments on their observation of the election. Subsequently, the Chairman of the Union Election Commission delivered a speech of thanks and concluded the event, it is learned.
