Release of Amended Law: Political Parties Registration Law amended

The republic of the Union of Myanmar, the National Defense and Security Council released the enactment of National Defense and Security Council Law No. (3/2025) amended the Political Parties Registration Law, on September 21, 2025.

The enactment is stated that the National Defense and Security Council has enacted this law under the Article - 427 of the Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. (1) This law shall be called the Political Parties Registration Law (Amendment). (2) The Article-12, sub-article (a), sub-section (1) of the Political Parties Registration Law shall be replaced as “(1) If a party is to be organized throughout the Union, it shall not be able to compete in one fourth of all constituencies included Pyithu Hluttaw, Amyotha Hluttaw, and Region or State Hluttaw (including constituencies for representatives of ethnic nationalities), in the general election.”

The enactment of the amended law is signed by the Acting President Senior General Min Aung Hlaing under Article 427 of the Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
