Rehabilitation and Resettlement: Plans underway for displaced persons from Salzin area

Kachin State Government plans to provide assistance for the internal displaced persons who are currently taking shelter at the basic education schools, monasteries and religious buildings in HpaKant Township.
They are from SalZin area where Kachin State and Sagaing Region meets. On Saturday, a coordination meeting for speedy implementation of rehabilitation and resettlement of internal displaced persons was held with the attendance of departmental personnel and social organizations.
Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan discussed that over 2,300 people from 545 households, and assistance will be provided for immediate needs including shelters, foods and health care services. He urged all to make discussions for systematic implementation of rehabilitation and resettlement of those displaced persons as a long-term plan.
