Regional Development: SG met departmental personnel and twonselders in Lashio

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with departmental personnel of Shan State (North) Sub-Administration Council, District and Township levels and townselders in Lashio on 9th April.

Officials reported on COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures, regional development works and plans for sufficient supply of water in Lashio. Union Ministers U Tin Htut Oo, U Hla Moe, Dr Nyunt Pe and Dr Thet Khaing Win explained the work underkings on water supply, agriculture and livestock sector, conducting economic and legal subjects at Lashio University, appointment of education staff, providing assistance for Laship People’s Hospital and prevention measures for infectious diseases.

Local residents also reported on requirements for upgrading of transportation facilities, water supply and construction of Goattwin Bridge. The Prime Minister discussed that Mandalay-Lashio-Muse union highway will be upgraded as par the designated period to meet the international standard.

He also explained plans for supply of water in Lashio with the use of water resources in the township and arrangements for construction of Goattwin Bridge. The Senior General urged local residents to have discipline in throwing gabbage in order to maining the township clean and beauty.

He added that Shan State has many resources for generating electricity, and at present, hydropower projects are being implemented in the state. He also stressed for successful implementation of agriculture and livestock breeding tasks with the use of abundent land resources of the state. The Prime Minister later presented gifts to the departmental personnel and townselders.
