Regional Cooperation: Myanmar delegation returns from BRF in Beijing

A Myanmar delegation led by Member of the State Administration Council, Deputy Prime Minister, and Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo arrived back in Myanmar on October 19th after attending the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, held in Beijing, China from October 17th to 18th.
The forum was organized to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), which is being implemented for the development and prosperity of all participating countries in the project.
With the theme "High-quality Belt and Road Cooperation: Together for Common Development and Prosperity," this year's forum included three High-Level Forums on Digital Economy, Green Development, and Connectivity, along with six discussions on these subjects.
The opening ceremony of the Forum was held at the China Great Hall on the 18th, with the attendance of Chinese President Xi Jinping. In the afternoon, Deputy Prime Minister General Mya Tun Oo attended the High-level Forum on Digital Economy, where Heads of States from Chile, Argentina, Congo, Kenya, Viet Nam, Cambodia, Nigeria, and Greece presented the Leaders' Statements on the digital economy and the digital transformation process in their respective countries.
The Deputy Prime Minister later participated in the Panel Session on "The Opportunities of Digital Economy for shared benefits and mutual learning" as a Speaker, along with the Digital Economic Ministers from 15 other BRI countries.
Delegation members, Union Minister at the Union Government Office (2) U Ko Ko Hlaing and Deputy Minister for Industry U Yin Maung Nyunt, also participated in the Thematic Session on People-to-people Bonds, while the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation took part in the High-Level Forum on Green Development.
Joint declarations on the "Beijing Initiative on Belt and Road International Digital Economy Cooperation" and the "Initiative on International Trade and Economic Cooperation Framework for Digital Economy and Green Development" were released during the forum.
On the 17th, Deputy Minister U Yin Maung Nyunt met with officials from the China Association of Science and Technology and discussed matters related to cooperation in conducting training courses for the maintenance of electric vehicles and collaboration in the mineral and industrial technological sectors.
The Myanmar delegation also attended the dinner reception hosted by President Xi Jinping in honor of the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.
