Region Investment Committee Meeting: Sagaing Region CM delivered the opening speech

The Sagaing Region Investment Committee (1/2026) held its coordination meeting on January 27 at the Region Government Office in Monywa. The meeting was attended by the Committee Chairman Region Chief Minister, U Myat Kyaw, who delivered the opening address.

In his remarks, Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw emphasized that all relevant departments, including the regional government, must work together to attract new investments and ensure that existing businesses operate smoothly without delays or obstacles. He urged committee members to collaborate effectively so that current investment projects can remain sustainable and achieve further success in the long term.

The Committee Secretary Director of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA), Daw Sint Sint Than, presented a Power Point briefing on the implementation status of decisions made during previous meetings, details of field inspections and activities carried out during January.

During the session, two major business matters were discussed including Royal Sapphire Ruby Family Co., Ltd. (a 100% Citizen-owned investment) submitted an application for an endorsement to assemble and distribute various two-wheel and three-wheel motorcycle spare parts using the SKD system in Sagaing and Sagaing Steel Industry Co., Ltd., which is already producing and selling iron and steel-based products under a committee endorsement, submitted a request to increase its investment capital.

Committee members discussed how their respective departments would cooperate with these businesses. The Chief Minister concluded the meeting by coordinating the requirements presented by the attendees and providing necessary guidance to the officials, it’s reported.
