






The Ayeyawady Region Investment Committee held its (1/2026) meeting in the evening of February 23rd at the Region Government Office, Meeting Hall (1) in Pathein. The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Ayeyawady Region Investment Committee and Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win, and member departmental heads of the Investment Committee.
Firstly, the Chairman of Ayeyawady Region Investment Committee and Region Chief Minister delivered an opening address.
Following this, companies submitted applications for approval to seek permission to operate businesses, including an application for a 100% foreign investment to undertake the assembly and manufacturing of various types of three-wheeled motorcycles, and an application for a 100% Myanmar citizen investment to seek permission to operate a business involving the milling, processing, production, and export/wholesale of paddy, rice, and rice products. Subsequently, the Secretary of the Region Investment Committee submitted matters for consideration, including applications seeking permission to increase investment capital for a 100% foreign investment, applications seeking permission to increase investment capital for a 100% Myanmar citizen investment, an application seeking permission to extend the construction period for a 100% Myanmar citizen investment, and an application seeking permission for share transfer for a 100% Myanmar citizen investment. After the responsible persons from the Region Investment Committee presented general discussions on these matters, the Chief Minister provided supplementary remarks and coordinated necessary actions.
The inauguration ceremony of the Festival of Marn Aung Myin (Pyidaw Pyan) Buddha Image, in Zalun Township, Hinthada District, Ayeyawady Region, took place at the pagoda on the morning of February 24th. The ceremony was attended by the Region Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win and his wife, region ministers and their spouses, departmental officials, and local residents.
Firstly, the Region Chief Minister, U Tin Maung Win, along with responsible officials, cut the ribbon to inaugurate the entrance archway of the Zalun Marn Aung Myin Buddha Festival. They then offered flowers, water, food, and golden robes to the sacred Marn Aung Myin Buddha image. Following this, they donated funds to the board of trustees.
The ceremony continued with the Region Chief Minister and guests observing the Five Precepts listening to the Paritta Suttas recited by the members of Sangha. The Region Chief Minister supplicated religious matters.
Subsequently, the Region Chief Minister and his wife, Region ministers, and responsible officials offered donated items and provisions to the Sayadaws and members of Sangha, it’s reported.
