Red Carpet Welcome: Welcoming ceremony and cordial discussion

President U Min Aung Hlaing received a red carpet welcome as he begins an official visit to Thailand on Thursday, at the invitation of the Prime Minister Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul. On his arrival at the Government House of Thailand in Bangkok, a military band played the national anthems of both countries and President U Min Aung Hlaing, together with the Thai Prime Minister inspected an ‌honour guard.

Then, President U Min Aung Hlaing paid respects to a portrait of Queen Mother Sirikit and signed the Government House guest book before holding a private meeting with Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. During the talks, the two leaders discussed Myanmar's political developments, cooperation on border security and the peace process, efforts to combat online gambling, online scams, illegal border trade, transboundary haze and river pollution, and cooperation in the energy sector. They also exchanged views on strengthening Myanmar's engagement with ASEAN and enhancing the two countries' friendship and strategic partnership.
