Receiving UNHCR: MoBA UM received UNHCR

Union Minister for the Ministry of Border Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, received Mr. Filippo Grandi, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on September 9.

During the meeting, they exchanged views and discussed several issues, including peace and stability in Myanmar's border regions, efforts to improve the socioeconomic conditions of ethnic people living in these areas, the progress of the government's national reconciliation and internal peace processes, the provision of humanitarian assistance, ongoing coordination to ensure the voluntary, safe, and dignified return of displaced people to Rakhine State once the area is stable, future cooperation between Myanmar and the UNHCR.
