Receiving IFRC Regional Director : MOH UM received IFRC Regional Director

The Union Minister for Health, Dr. Thet Khaing Win, received Mr. Alexander James Mathews, Director of the Asia-Pacific Regional Office of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), Tuesday afternoon at the reception hall of the Ministry of Health.

During the meeting, they cordially exchanged views on matters including the current support provided by the IFRC to the Myanmar Red Cross Society in its humanitarian assistance efforts, collaboration on conducting training courses for disaster preparedness and response, plans by the Myanmar Red Cross Society to organize livelihood training courses for the public in connection with earthquake recovery efforts and arrangements for the 23rd Southeast Asian Red Cross and Red Crescent Society Leaders' Meeting, which is scheduled to be held in September and will be hosted by the Myanmar Red Cross Society.
