Pyin Oo Lwin Station: SAC Chairman Inspected The Century Old Rail Facility

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, together with SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Union Ministers and officials, visited PyinOo Lwin Station on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister discussed for cleaning and beautifying tasks in the environs, conservation for long term maintenance since it was an ancient building and to upgrade the coaches and rail tracks. The Prime Minister and party later took a train ride from PyinOo Lwin to ZeePinGyi, while enjoying the beautiful natural landscapes, greenish plantations and lifestyle of local residents along the way.

The Prime Minister also gave instructions on development of rail transportation and scenic train rides, upgrading of rail roads and coaches, and beautifying tasks along the rail road.

PyinOo Lwin station is situated in No.7 Ward, Aung Zeya Road, and was built in 1899. Being located on Mandalay-Lashio rail road, it has been contributing for transportation and commodity flow for local residents for 123 years.

The station has been maintained in its original design, and the documentary photos and history are also on display in the lounge of station.
