Putin meets with DR Congo counterpart in Moscow

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) counterpart Félix Tshisekedi held a bilateral meeting in Moscow on October 30, on the sidelines of the third Russia–Africa Summit. During the meeting, Tshisekedi urged Moscow to back the enforcement of UN Security Council Resolution 2773, and to help broker peace and resolve the long-standing crisis in eastern DRC.

Tshisekedi also sought Putin's help at the UN Security Council to renew the mandate of the MONUSCO UN peacekeeping force in his country that ends in December.
