Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday called for deeper cooperation among gas-exporting nations to stabilize the global market during the Eighth Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) summit in Moscow. Putin urged members to abandon trade barriers and build open, trust-based partnerships driven by mutual benefit and sovereign technologies.

He emphasized the need to optimize export routes, increase gas supplies, use long-term contracts, and expand investments in new deposits. Putin also highlighted Russia's role in the global gas market, saying the country has the world's largest natural gas reserves and ranks second in production.
