Psaki on Jackson's historic day, rising COVID cases

White House press secretary Jen Psaki talked emotionally about Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson's historic Supreme Court confirmation Thursday and appearance Friday at the White House with President Joe Biden.

Psaki also commented on the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Washington, DC and within the administration and acknowledged that "like anyone else, the president may at some point, test positive."

Cabinet members, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and a number of other members of Congress and journalists have tested positive for COVID in recent days.

At least a dozen of those infections can be traced to the Gridiron Club dinner, an annual fixture of the D.C. social calendar that took place Saturday for the first time in three years.

Psaki says Biden continues to test negative and the White House has put into place a number of "protocols" to ensure that remains the case, from requiring COVID tests before meetings with the president and social distancing when possible.
