








The ceremony to provide financial assistance for homes damaged by terrorist incidents in Kayah State, organized by the Ministry of Border Affairs, was held at the State Hall in Loikaw on September 16. The event was attended by State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin, Deputy Minister for Border Affairs Ma-J Gen. Phyo Thant, Commander of Regional Operations Command, the State Chief Justice, members of the State Government, departmental staff, and the residents.
In his opening address, the State Chief Minister stated that the Union and the State Governments are striving with great effort, in collaboration with relevant departments and the public, for the development and reconstruction of the state. He expressed his belief that the provision of financial assistance by the Ministry of Border Affairs, based on the extent of damage to homes caused by terrorist incidents in the state, would be of assistance to the affected residents.
Following this, Deputy Minister for Border Affairs Ma-J Gen. Phyo Thant explained the provision of financial assistance and the implementation of development projects for border areas and human resources.
Subsequently, the State Chief Minister handed over financial assistance for 110 damaged homes in Min Su , Daw Noe Ku , and Myay Ni Kone wards, while the Deputy Minister presented financial assistance for 102 damaged homes in Naung Yar (A), Mingalar, and Daw Ta Ma wards. Representatives respectively received the assistance.
Furthermore, the Commander of Regional Operations Command, the State Chief Justice, and members of the State Government separately distributed financial assistance for 388 damaged homes in Zay Paing , Namt Baw Wan (A), Nam Baw Wan (B), Daw U Khu , Shwe Taung, Nanattaw , Lawdhamma , Htay Thama , Dhamma Yon , Nam Kut , Naung Yar (B), Nanattaw, Mong Lone , and Shan Su wards. Representatives received the assistances, and a member of the public expressed words of thanks on behalf of the affected residents.
The State Chief Minister then warmly greeted and encouraged the attending public. Residents presented their difficulties and requests for assistance, to which responses were given, and necessary coordination was made with relevant departmental officials.
It is reported that at today’s ceremony, the financial assistance totaling 266.6 million kyats were provided for 600 homes including 433 completely damaged and 167 partially damaged in wards of Loikaw due to terrorist incidents.
