Providing assistance and healthcare : Kayah State CM met with IDPs and provided assistances

The Kayah State Government is systematically implementing measures to ensure the immediate livelihood needs of temporarily displaced people who have arrived in Loikaw, as well as facilitating their resettlement and the restoration of their original livelihoods.

In the morning on September 21, State Chief Minister U Zaw Myat Tin, along with state government members and relevant officials, met with people who have recently returned to Kone Thar Village at the Yadanar Thiri Pariyatti Sarthintaik Monastery in Loikaw to resettle.

First, the State Chief Minister explained that the purpose of the visit was to provide support and address the immediate livelihood needs of the people. He stated that the state government is making arrangements for people to systematically resettle in their home regions.

During their stay at the temporary shelters, healthcare services are being provided, school-aged children are being enabled to attend nearby schools, and efforts are underway to help them resume their agricultural, livestock, and original livelihood activities.

He added that security personnel are working to ensure security and territorial stability and urged all people to cooperate. Next, the temporarily displaced people presented their needs and requirements. The State Chief Minister explained the assistance that relevant departments would provide and coordinated with officials to address the necessary measures. Subsequently, the State Chief Minister and officials distributed rice, oil, eggs, dried noodles, and subsistence allowances to the temporarily displaced people.

After that, the State Chief Minister and officials observed the healthcare services provided by staff of the State Public Health Department. The Chief Minister instructed officials to arrange for timely referrals to the public hospital when necessary for the elderly, children, and pregnant women. They also warmly greeted and offered words of encouragement to the people, it’s reported.
