The Ministry of Industry mainly produces medicines, hospital supplies and medical bandages to distribute to the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Labour annually. The surplus are sold and distributed to the agents and the people via BPI pharmacies.
The raw materials are kept to produce hospital supplies and only when the orders from the Ministry of Health for medicines and hospital supplies are received, these supplies are produced. The hospital supplies and medical bandages are being produced according to the orders.
It has been also arranged to buy machines from abroad to boost the production of anti-venom. Now, Myanmar has started to produce Myancopharm Covid-19 vaccine at Myanma Pharmaceutical Factory (YwaThaGyi Branch) and it is planned to sell the vaccines to the Ministry of Health starting April of this year. Moreover, measures will be accelerated to make medical researches to produce new items of drugs and medicines.
